Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. She went through some test to determine exactly what was going on, then had a mastectomy. In Sept of 2006 she started chemo, then radiation and reconstruction, which was done by June of 2007. A lot of people were more supportive and payed more attention to her. “It made me realize that anything can happen at anytime and that you can’t afford to not to do things because you don’t know if you will have the chance tomorrow to do it.”
