Yukio was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He did a lot of research on prostate cancer, and through that process he decided that he will not have a traditional therapy, even though it puts his life at risk. Yukio’s cancer is slowly growing but has not been aggressive and so far he is safe at the moment. “They do treat me differently because they don’t know what it is, and they have no idea about the risk that I am taking and they seem kind of uncomfortable talking to me about it.” “There is a significant shift in attitude towards life... it made me realize that I will not live forever and I have to do things promptly so that whatever I want to do, I can.” Yukio says that “It is a wake up call, saying that you can’t ignore things in life anymore. You got to take care of your health and be direct and purposeful in doing what you are going to do in life.”
